A nice fat bumper 320i with rough paint and used looking interior. Something we might restore if it werent a 320i that takes 12 seconds to 60. But inside...a 6-speed shift knob?
A 6-speed swap, surely not for the origional slow engine. I wonder what the end product will be. This looks fun.
If its yours, yes ive reason to be back there. My projects under the tarp in the other corner. awesome start. Would love to know more.

An M54B30 would be a great engine for that chassis. 235hp is more than enough to make such a light car fast.

I really think this will be a track car. Possibly a turbo m40something for balance woukd be lots of fun. Well see...

Could just be a replacement shift knob, although I hope otherwise.

That shift knob is from Bangle-era cars.

I was actually looking at BMW engine weights last week because some guy is selling an m50 swapped e30 and I couldn’t help but feel like that’s a whole lot of work for no practical gains in power or weight reduction. I found these https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=233682

according to the second one there is only a 57lb difference in the m42 and the m54. Which seems odd to me.
